Jewell Blanton, age 99, of Oil Springs, KY, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

She was born on September 22, 1926, in Oil Springs to the late Archie and Mae Carpenter Jackson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Blanton; her stepmother, Virgie Blanton Jackson; two daughters, Charlene Blanton, Penelope Kay Jackson; and one sister, Geneva Jackson.

Survivors include three sons: Donald (Sandy) Blanton of Canal Winchester, OH, Michael (Sandy) Blanton of Oil Springs, KY, and David Blanton of Richmond, KY; three daughters: Connie (Roger) May of Springfield, OH, Jackie (Phillip) Puckett of Salyersville, KY, and Tena (the late Russell) Niece, along with nineteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

Jewell faithfully attended the Salyersville Pentecostal Church.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Saturday, November 29, 2025, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Blanton Family Cemetery at Oil Springs. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, November 28, 2025, and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 11 A.M.
