Jewell Ward Ratliff, age 77, of Staffordsville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at Kings Daughter's Medical Center.

Jewell was born September 30, 1947 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late of Mason Ward and Dora Spradlin Ward. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Robert Ward, James Ward, Clyde Ward, Isaac Ward and Norman Ward.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Herman Ray Ratliff whom she married on December 11, 1965. To this union were two sons, Johnny Ray Ratliff and wife Charlee of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Tommy Michael Ratliff of Louisa, Kentucky.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Misty Jade Fowler, Earic (Shanda) Freedlish, Jimmy VanHoose, Destiny Magdaline Cyrus, Ashley Crothers; six great grandchildren, Nikoli Freedlish, Elizha Freedlish, Leukos Freedlish, Austin Robert Morris, Wyatt Alan Morris and Jordon Crothers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Resurgence Outreach Church, 236 2nd Street, Paintsville, Kentucky, with Pastor Gerald Fairchild and Pastor Dan Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024. Visitation Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Resurgence Outreach Church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
