John Woodford Bowen age 55, of Highlands, New Jersey  ,passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his parents home at Flat Gap, Kentucky.

John was born June 11, 1968 in Morehead, Kentucky, son of Woodford Bowen and Judith Carolyn Reed Bowen. He is preceded in death by one brother, Michael Jairus Bowen.

He is survived by both of his parents, Woodford and Judith Reed Bowen; two sisters, Kimberly Bowen Spatola and husband Philip of  Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey and Mindi Michelle Fairchild of Flat Gap, Kentucky; one niece, Maci Michelle Fairchild; five nephews, Blake Spatola, Nicholas Spatola, Keygan Pelfrey, Jacob Bowen and Joseph Bowen.

John was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army and a member of Fish Trap United Baptist Church.

Celebration of Life service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Fish Trap United Baptist Church with Sam Reed and Danny Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.
