John Cecil Robinson, age 98, of Davis Branch Road, Paintsville, KY, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on May 16, 1928, in Paintsville, KY, to the late Jay and Oakie Dee Ward Robinson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hatfield Robinson, and one brother, Bill Jay Robinson.

On May 5, 1963, he was baptized at the First Baptist Church in West Van Lear, KY. John worked 23 years for Adams Construction Co., 14 years for Rebel Coal Co., and B.W. McDonald.

Survivors include wife Fairisene Robinson, South Williamson, KY; one daughter, Patty Barker, Paintsville; three sons, Ronnie (Jackie) Robinson, Hager Hill; Larry (Judy) Robinson, Paintsville; and Bill (Sue) Robinson, Georgetown, KY; three granddaughters, Amy (Dale) Loney, Van Lear, KY, Gina (Brian) Wells, Georgetown, KY, and Melinda (Scooter) Charles, Morehead, KY; two great-granddaughters, Taylor (Jesse) Stapleton and Katelyn Wells; five great-grandsons, Brett (Alexis) Loney, Eli Loney, Easton Charles, Jonathan Wells, and Maddux Charles; and two great-great-grandsons, Morgan Stapleton and Briggs Loney.

Additional survivors include: one step-daughter, Helen (Jim) Kirk; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Brett Loney, Eli Loney, Dale Loney, Brian Wells, Jonathan Wells, Jesse Stapleton, Scooter Charles, Easton Charles and Maddux Charles.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Sunday, June 21, 2026 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Roger Hill officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville, KY. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 3 PM until 8 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 and from 9 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
