Burial: Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky

Josh Pruitt, age 43, of River, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at UK Medical Center.

Josh was born November 29, 1980 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of Larry and Bessie Johnson Pruitt.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Meredith Powers Pruitt whom he married on August 23, 2008. To this union were born two sons, Nicholas "Nick" Pruitt and Nathan "Nate" Pruitt.

Also surviving are his parents, Larry and Bessie Johnson Pruitt of Thelma, Kentucky; one brother, Randy Pruitt and wife Susan of Thelma, Kentucky; three nephews, Rhett-Jackson Vaughan, Braydon Jervis and Braydon Staniford; two nieces, Meghan Pruitt and Madison Little and husband Steven; and one great nephew, John Luke Little.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Albert and Mary Johnson and paternal grandparents, Floyd and Fannie Pruitt.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Ronnie Spriggs, Brad Kimbler, and Christopher Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024.
