Larry Maurice Butcher Sr, age 68, of Staffordsville, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at his residence.

He was born on February 15, 1957, in Paintsville, KY, to the late Maurice Butcher and Jean Fields Kohli.

On January 17, 1976, he married Karen Miller Butcher, who survives. Additional survivors include one son, Larry Maurice (Audry) Butcher Jr. of Defiance, OH; one daughter, Katrina Kaye Butcher of Defiance, OH; one step-daughter, Emma (Michael) Schwartz of Lima, OH; two brothers, Robert Butcher of Columbus Grove, OH; and Shannon Kohli of Ottawa, OH; six grandchildren: Clarissa (David), Jasmine, Josh, Jacob, Justin, and James; one step-granddaughter: Veronica.

Larry served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025, in the chapel of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, with Jot Marsillett officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.  Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 A.M. on Monday until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 P.M.
