Leondis "Leon" William Blanton, age 91, of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Highlands ARH.

Leon was born June 9, 1929 Magoffin County, Kentucky, son of the late John and Leona Cantrell Blanton.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Brunton Blanton; children, Sue (Rick) Alltop of Springfield, Ohio, Romane (Lee) Shaner of Springfield, Ohio, Jeffery Prugh of Southgate, Kentucky, Terry & Larry (Deceased) Maxwell of Springfield, Ohio, and Cheryl (Kenny) Moore of Van Lear, Kentucky; grandchildren, Gary (Brandy) Stevens of Springfield, Ohio, US Marine LCpl Jason Daniel (Deceased), Travis (Michelle) Maxwell of Medway, Ohio, Dylan (Morgan) Maxwell of Jamestown, Ohio and Tehya Maxwell of Springfield, Ohio; five great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mervin (Deceased) and Connie Blanton of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Della Francis and Kendrick Barker of Jackson, Ohio, Lonza (Deceased) and Betty Blanton of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Ersla and Harmon Barker of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Elsie and Mary Ann Blanton of Red Bush, Kentucky, Judy Carol and Eulas Adams of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Ora Blanton (Deceased), Emma Jewel and Johnny Adams of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Annith Harris of Paintsville, Kentucky, and Bonnie Jean (Deceased) and Dan Sexton of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will conducted at a later date.
