Linville Fairchild, affectionately referred to as "Paps" by close family and "Cat Head" by old friends, Linville Fairchild left this world for his heavenly home on January 31, 2026, at Highlands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Before suffering a spinal injury, Linville worked as a pipe layer and enjoyed a distinguished career in the United States Army, where he adored his platoon and mastered the art of pool playing, winning several championships in the 1980s.
Linville never knew a stranger and was always quick to offer a helping hand. He loved his family and friends with fierce devotion and was never one to hold a grudge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Fairchild of Paintsville; two daughters, Stacy (Sarah) Stephens of Paintsville and Amy (Billy) Blanton of Paintsville; three grandchildren who adored him: Arianna Mar, Brady Blanton, and Shay Blanton; as well as a host of extended family and close friends whom he loved dearly.
