Lonnie Dunn, Jr., age 82, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday at Prestonsburg Health Care.

Lonnie was born April 25, 1942 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, son of the late Lonnie Dunn and Mary Reed Dunn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Janice Sue Daniel Dunn; son, Lonnie Dunn III; brothers, Roosevelt Dunn, Rondall Dunn, John George "JG" Dunn, and Jerry Dunn; and sister, Margaret Pauline Dunn.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae Rice Dunn; one daughter, Dana (William Keith) Ransdell of Nicholasville, Kentucky; two step daughters, Betty E. Reed of Paintsville, Kentucky and Sandy (Barry) Pelphrey of Lexington, Kentucky; one brother, Luther Dean Dunn of Salyersville, Kentucky; one sister, Donna Gail Westover of St. George, Utah; two grandchildren, Ellie Marie Ransdell and William Dunn Ransdell; three step grandchildren, Ethan Pelphrey, Jarrod Pelphrey and John Erick Pelphrey; four step great grandchildren Kaden Pelphrey, Keelie Pelphrey, Caiden Smith and Xander Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Doug Dunn and John Montgomery. Burial will follow at Dunn Family Cemetery, Cow Creek, Magoffin County, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
