Louis E. Ballance, age 70, of Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Louis was born February 22, 1955 in Fairborn, Ohio, son of the late Alvin Lewis Ballance and Geraldine Hill Ballance. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Terri Keyes.

He is survived by his wife, Almeda Ballance; three sons, Shane (Heather) Ballance of Daphine, Alabama, Justin Ballance of Fairborn, Ohio and Dock Horne of Van Lear, Kentucky; two daughters, Latonia (Jeff) Vance of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Shelly Horne of Oil Springs, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens, Louisa, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026.
