Marilyn Preston, age 85, of Flat Gap, KY, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY.

She was born on October 28, 1939, in Paintsville, KY, to the late Duell and Esther Dorton Williams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Leonora Stickel.

On June 4, 1960, she married Paul E. Preston, who survives.

Additional survivors include two sons: Charles Paul (Kristen) Preston of Pikeville, KY, Thomas Edward (Heather) Preston of Jamestown, KY; one daughter: Jennifer Susan (Phillip) Goggans of Paintsville, KY; her twin sister: Carolyn (Carroll) Burchett of Flat Gap, KY; six grandchildren: Joseph Goggans, Macy (Taylor) Hudson, Susanna (Trace) Bowen, Madelyn Preston, Rebecca Goggans, and Maleah Preston.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Seth Carter and Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Williams Family Cemetery in Flat Gap. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the time of services at 1 P.M.
