Mary Margaret Woods Shell, age 75, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, at her residence.

Mary was born November 19, 1945, in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late John Woods and Gerttie Arms Woods.

She is survived by her husband James Thomas Shell of Paintsville, Kentucky, three sons, James Paul (Debbie) Shell of Paintsville, Kentucky, John Melvin Shell of Paintsville, Kentucky, and Christopher Thomas Shell of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Sonia Leigh Shell (Jack) Simpson of Paintsville. Kentucky; one sister, Dianne Joan Root of Columbus, Ohio, five grandchildren, Destiny Shell (Wayne) Wells, John Martin Shell, Brandi Ousley, Jade Simpson, Austin Simpson, and one great-grandchild, Alexia Wheeler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville, Kentucky.  Friends may visit Jones-Preston Funeral Home Monday, January 18, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
