Melissa Dawn  King, age 43 of Sitka, Kentucky passed of February 23, 2024 at her home after an extended illness.

Melissa was born July 24, 1980 in Lawrence County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Howard King and Rachel Michel Hayes King.

She is survived by one brother, Chester King of Sitka, Kentucky; one niece Summer Elizabeth Michelle King; and a host of cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Harry Neal Frisby officiating. Burial will follow at King Family Cemetery, Sitka, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2024 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.
