Mellana Sharyl Williams Cantrell, age 76, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, formerly of Johnson County, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center.

Mellana was born August 17, 1946 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Loy Williams and Mollie McKenzie Williams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Burl "Skip" Cantrell, Jr. and two sisters, Audrey Pauline Brown and Janis Loyola Blanton.

She is survived by one son, Marcus "Marc" Cantrell and wife Teresa of Staffordsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Patricia Lynette Blackman of Fort Mill, South Carolina; and four grandchildren, Amberley Victoria Blackman, Bethany Brooke Blackman, Marcus Loy Cantrell, and Seth Allen Cantrell.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023.
