Millard Monroe Gillispie, age 63, of Thelma, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on October 3, 1962, in Inez, KY, to the late Columbus and Mary Darcus Reed Gillispie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Columbus Gillispie Jr.

On January 28, 1986, in Paintsville, he married Brenda Marie George Gillispie, who survives. Additional survivors include one son: Millard Paul (Angel) Gillispie of Staffordsville; one daughter: Trula Ratliff (Daniel Mullins) of Thelma; two brothers: Lloyd (Mary) Gillispie of Boons Camp, James (Myra) Gillispie of Van Lear; eight sisters: Flora Whitt of Emma, Mary Harmon of Elkhorn City, Amanda (Steve) Walters of Offutt, Lucy Gillispie of Meally, Josephine Gillispie of Meally, Kay Gillispie of Meally, Sarah (Mike) Dennison of Oregon, Misty (Mack) Lowe of Van Lear, along with seven grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Monday, May 25, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Scottie Mollette officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillispie-Reed Cemetery at Boons Camp. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Monday from 11 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 2 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Millard's memory to the Jones-Preston Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
