Minnie Wahneeta Kirk Ward, age 96, of Offutt, KY, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

She was born October 9, 1928 in Johnson County, KY, to the late Thornsey Kirk and Sallee Ward Kirk Carter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons: Thornsey Brooks "Brookie" Price, James Thomas Castle; one daughter: Sarah Ward Holt; three brothers: James Kirk, Jeffrey Kirk, Issac Kirk; and one sister: Sarah Kirk.

Survivors include one son: Verasino Ward of Offutt, KY; five daughters: Mary Kirk Preston of Offutt, KY, Verona Young Heuser of Sitka, KY, Jenny Ward Porter of Prestonsburg, KY, Dianna Ward Lawson of Staffordsville, KY, Linda Ward of Offutt, KY; two nephews, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She was considered an honorary grandmother and great-grandmother to many friends and neighbors who are saddened by her passing.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M., Friday, September 5, 2025, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with John Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at the Sallee Carter Cemetery in Offutt. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
