Nellie Porter Reed, age 86, of East Point, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Highlands ARH.

Nellie was born September 19, 1935 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Eddie and Olgia Wells Porter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Reed, one daughter Rosemary Reed, one son Sammie Reed Jr., four brother, Johnnie Porter, Danny Porter, Chester Porter, Jeff Porter, six sisters, Mary Ruth May, Emma Gallant, Bessie Christopher, Dimple Spradlin, Brenda Adams Dorothy Hanby.

She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Reed of Paintsville, Kentucky; one grandson Sammie "BJ" Reed III and wife Debbie; two great grandchildren, Rachel Reed and Jakob Reed; one brother, Eddie Porter, Jr.; three sisters, Julia Reffett, Connie Caldwell, and Martha Carol Porter; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Aaron Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Ramey Cemetery, East Point, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2021.
