Nicky Carol Wetzel Pelphrey, age 86, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at her home.

Nicky was born February 6, 1936 in Johnson County, Kentucky daughter of the late Paul Clifford Wetzel and Marianna Hager Wetzel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James R. "Jim" Pelphrey, Sr. and one brother, Dr. Daniel E. Wetzel.

She is survived by two sons, James R. "Jimmy" Pelphrey, Jr. of Paintsville, Kentucky and Paul D. "PD" Pelphrey and wife Diane of Hager Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Jane Ann Pelphrey Daniels and husband Jimmy of Paintsville, Kentucky; one brother, Fred Wetzel of Van Lear, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Diana Daniels Kinner and husband Jeff, Maddie Pelphrey Preston and husband Andrew, Matthew Daniels, Dalton Daniels, Devin Pham, and Delaney Pham; and three great grandchildren, Cooper, Marianna and Miles.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Donnie Patrick and Seth Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 and Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
