Ocie Jennings Jr, age 65, of Hazard, formerly of Johnson County, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Hazard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born to Millie Burchett Jennings and Ocie Jennings on June 1, 1960.  He was a member of Locust Grove United Baptist Church.  Ocie was a gentle soul who loved flowers. Although he lived a life of many challenges, he had a sweet sense of humor.  He has spent many years at the Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Home, where he was loved and cared for, and he would laughingly ask one of his nurses to marry him.

He is survived by several cousins and the loving staff of the Nursing Home.  He will be missed by all who loved him.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 4 P.M. Thursday, January 8, 2026 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home. A private burial will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Burchett Family Cemetery in Stambaugh. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 2 P.M. until the time of funeral services at 4 P.M.
