Oretha Horn Hamilton, age 84 of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed from this life Saturday, June 20, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 7, 1935 in Inez, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Marion and Gladys Bowen Horn. She was one of six siblings. She is preceded in death by an older sister, Ruth Ann Williamson of Inez, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Homer Webb (Jewell) of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She graduated from Inez High School in 1954. She married William Hamilton in 1964 and worked as a telephone operator in both Columbus, Ohio and Paintsville, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband William "Bill" Hamilton of Paintsville, Kentucky; her four children, Debbie LeMaster (Johnnie) of Paintsville, Kentucky; Sheree Adams (Butch) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Lisa Williams (Kevin) of Ashland, Kentucky; David Hamilton of Paintsville, Kentucky. Ten grandchildren, Brandi Collins (Joe) of Paintsville, Kentucky; Amber Ratliff (Craig) of Paintsville, Kentucky; Jamie Ratliff (JK) of Paintsville, Kentucky; Lauren Rogers (Dustin) of Betsy Layne, Kentucky; Blake Delong of Paintsville, Kentucky; Bryce Hamilton of Paintsville, Kentucky; Ashley Scott of Georgetown, Kentucky; Taylor Scott of Lexington, Kentucky; Hannah and Holly Williams of Ashland, Kentucky and many great grandchildren, (Gunner, Griffin, Grier, Chessa, Braxton, Baron, Blair, Luke, Will, CJ and Cooper); sisters, Alma L. Butcher (Charles) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; Jewell Webb (Homer) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her brothers, Larry Horn (Peggy) of Nashville, Tennessee; Marion Horn, Jr. (Elaine) of Lexington, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Eugene "Gene" Williamson (Ruth Ann) of Inez, Kentucky. Also leaving behind many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Johnnie LeMaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Monday, June 22, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
