Peggy Lou Collins VanHoose, age 72, of Richmond, Kentucky, formerly of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021.

Peggy was born August 23, 1949 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Brooksie and Maggie Wells Collins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Brooksie Collins, Jr. and two sisters, Daisy Williams and Willadean Schaff.

She is survived by one daughter, Nikki Bowling of Richmond, Kentucky; one son, Michael VanHoose of Berea, Kentucky; two brothers, David Collins and Stanley Collins both of Van Lear, Kentucky; one sister, Madelyn Meade of Van Lear, Kentucky; and two granddaughters, Maggie Bowling and Lauren VanHoose.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with B. Joe Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Route 3, Van Lear, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
