Phillip Eugene Murray, age 86, of Staffordsville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Pikeville Medical Center, in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Phillip was born October 13, 1934 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He is the son of the late Lundy Murray and Nellie Lemaster Murray. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Phillip Marion Murray.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Cantrell Murray; two sons, Ken Murray, and Michael Murray both of Staffordsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Jane Elizabeth Ross of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brandon and Bryan, and two great grandchildren Xander and Veronica.
Phillip was a supervisor for the Grim Beverage Company and East Kentucky Beverage and also President of Murray Transport.
Per the Kentucky Governor mandates, all services are to be private. Private funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church with James Kelly Caudill and Chuck Slone officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Private visitation will be Monday, November 23, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
** Per the Governor's mandates as of Friday, November 20, 2020, anyone attending the visitation, funeral service, memorial service, and or Graveside/Committal services are limited to 25 people. Face coverings of some types are required for everyone.
