Phyllis "Peno" Conley, age 77, of Oil Springs, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at her home.

Peno was born February 2, 1945 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Luther and Josie Crider Hayslett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip C. Conley, two children, son, David Hayslett, daughter, Rhonda Jones, siblings, Paul Hayslett, Clarence "Red" Hayslett, Otto E.  "Bud" Hayslett, Rena Jones, Barbara "Curly" Blair, Maltia Vargo, Deloris "Dottie" Blair, and Ruby Witten, and two grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Gary (Melanie) Combs, Robert L. Combs and Phillip C. (Joaquinna) Conley II all of Oil Springs, Kentucky; one daughter, Lisa (Tony) Stapleton-Potter of Whitesburg, Kentucky; one sister, Janet Greiner of Paintsville, Kentucky; one very special niece, Shelia Zeman of Springfield, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Bruce Aaron Davis and Roger Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Family Cemetery, Oil Springs, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2022, 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
