Randy Blanton, age 65, of Flat Gap, passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2026, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

He was born on June 27, 1960, in Paintsville to Lillian Skeens Blanton and the late Robert Paul Blanton.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Zac (Samantha) Blanton of Flat Gap; one daughter, Summer Tackett of Flat Gap; three stepdaughters: Rainey, Christy, and Trina; one brother, Gary (Margaret) Blanton of Flat Gap; fourteen grandchildren: Paizlei, Koltyn, Korbyn, Emmy, Justin, Ally, Brittany, Marky, Micah, Peyton, Kenley, Ian, Caleb, Sundari; four great-grandchildren: Addison, Madden, Jonah, Bethany; along with one great-grandson on the way: Koen.

Randy was born with a gentle spirit and a loyal heart, qualities that stayed with him throughout his life. He was a man who valued family above all else, and those who loved him will forever remember his quiet humor, his steady presence, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Denvil Mollette, Tim Salyers, and Ethan Blanton officiating. Interment will follow at the Blanton Family Cemetery at Flat Gap. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Tuesday, from 9 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 2 P.M.
