Rex Porter, age 67, of Thelma, passed away Friday afternoon, February 6, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on August 23, 1958, in Magoffin County to the late Clarence and Edith Blanton Porter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Dale Porter, and one sister, Kathy Porter Smithers.

He is survived by two daughters: Brandy Haney of Thelma, Kimberly Porter of Staffordsville; one brother: Jimmy (Shirley) Porter of Salyersville; two sisters: Peggy Kilgore of Salyersville, Gracetta (Jim) Porter of Salyersville; three grandchildren: Alexis Michelle Haney, Madison Nicole Haney, and Dylan Rex Porter.

Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Sunday, February 8, 2026.
