Burial: Blankenship Family Cemetery, Thelma, Kentucky

Richard "Dick" Ricely Young, age 87, of Thelma, Kentucky formerly of Wellston and London, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

Dick was born August 22, 1935 in Cherokee, Kentucky, son of the late Bert Young and Ethel Curnutte Young. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, brother, Talmadge Young and sister, Cathy Young Blankenship.

He is survived by one son, Randy Young of Ohio; two daughters, Doreen Young and Monica Young both of Ohio; one sister, Sharon McClellan and husband Gary of Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family that adored him.

Dick was an avid golfer in which he had 2 hole in ones that he was proud of, a hunter, sports enthusiast, and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dick served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a proud veteran. While in the service, medals he received were, Sharpshooter (Rifle), Marksman (Carbine) and Good Conduct Medal.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Harry Neal Frisby and Jim Blankenship officiating.  Burial will follow at Blankenship Family Cemetery, Thelma, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.
