Rodney Allen Oney, age 85, of Eaton, Ohio, formerly of East Point, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Kettering Memorial Hospital.

Rodney was born February 27, 1936 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late Orville Earl Oney and Dixie Angie Colvin Oney. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Earl Gene Oney and sister in law, Joyce Hale Oney.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Geraldine Champagne Oney; one son, James Earl Oney of Camden, Ohio; two daughters, Deborah Lou Kirsch of Zanesville, Ohio and Rebecca Sue Ferguson of Huber Heights, Ohio; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Highland Memorial Park with Aaron Davis officiating. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV at Highland Memorial Park.
