Roger W. Castle, age 78, of Preston Estates, Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky.

Roger was born September 11, 1941 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late James and Vivian McCloud Castle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Castle and Shirley Kindell and two brothers, Allen Castle and Larry Castle.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna Coleman Castle whom he married on November 7, 1975. To this union were two children, son, Dr. Jason Castle and wife Gwen of Staffordsville, Kentucky and daughter, Whitney Harris and husband Dr. Andrew Harris of Lexington, Kentucky.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Isabella Grace Castle, Roger Willis Castle, Jacob Alexander Rubado, Gabriella Grace Rubado, Caroline Elizabeth-McLain Harris, Chloe Vivian Harris, Rhett Coleman Castle Harris, and Remington Augustus Rick Harris;  siblings, Louise (John) McGowan of Cleveland, Tennessee, Betty (Wayne) Morgan of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Linda (Al) Al-Shalchy of Daytona Beach, Florida, Malta (Gene) Roberts of Greenup, Kentucky, James "Jimmy" Castle, Jr. of Paintsville, Kentucky, Charles "Chuck" (Jennifer) Castle of Jacksonville, Florida, Robert "Bob" Castle of Thelma, Kentucky, Willian "Bill" (Johnda) Castle of Thelma, Kentucky, and Debbie (Wayne) Price of Paintsville, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Seth Carter officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.
