Roger Lee Keaton, age 79, of Martha, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his home.

Roger was born September 28, 1942 in Lawrence County, Kentucky, son of the late Hershel Keaton, Sr. and Elsie Mae Marshall Keaton.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Iness Gilliam Keaton, and one brother, Jimmie Keaton.

Roger was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel and a Deacon in the Old Paint Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by four daughters; Kimberly (Darrin) Turpin of Madison, Alabama, Lesa (Chris) Mattingly of Martha, Kentucky, Brenda (Arnie) Marichal, and Rhonda (Josh) Shockley of Berea, Kentucky, one brother, Paul E. Keaton of red Bush, Kentucky, one sister, Mary Rowland of Paintsville, Kentucky, and five grandchildren, Benjamin Mattingly, Bradley Mattingly, Grace Turpin, Keaton Shockley and Loryn Shockley.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Old Paint Primitive Baptist Church, Relief, Kentucky with Jonathan Rigsby and Rick Holbrook officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.  Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021, and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Old Paint Primitive Baptist Church, Sunday, December 5, 2021.
