Rosa Mary VanHoose, age 68, of Nippa, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on December 5, 1957, in Oil Springs to the late Lazarus and Bessie Mabel Ward Blevins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne VanHoose, two brothers: Larry Allen Blevins and Chester Adam Blevins.

Survivors include one daughter, Christina Allen of Prestonsburg; five brothers: Azel Eugene (Denita) Blevins of Paintsville, Jerry Lynn Blevins of Inez, Rodney Lee (Lisa) Blevins of Staffordsville, Dane (Toni) Blevins of Van Lear, Bennie Joe Blevins of Thealka; five sisters: Dottie Oralee King of Meally, Darlena Carol (David J.) Hitchcock of River, Barbara Alice Sexton of Hager Hill, Rusha Ann Fairchild of Paintsville, Shirley (Johnny Bill) Sexton of Paintsville; two grandchildren: Christopher VanHoose, Broxton Allen; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Chuck Slone officiating. Burial will follow at the VanHoose Family Cemetery at Nippa. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 11 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1 P.M.
