Roy Franklin Allen, 83, of Wittensville, KY, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025. Born May 25, 1941, in Beauty, KY, he was the son of the late Ben Sr. and Elizabeth Litton Allen. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Archie, Ben Jr. "Red," Danny Joe, Gary Lee, and Donnie Eugene.

Roy is survived by siblings Tommy (Kathy), Randy (Kim), Betty Jaramillo, Charlotta, and Darlene Lowe (Ray).  He is also survived by seven children: Karen Scott (Hawley), Cheryl Moore (Gary), Lorna Andrews, Bonnie Blackburn (Pete), Donna Mingerink (Rick), Roy "Franklin" Allen Jr.(Haijing), and Bobbi Jo Allen(Fiance' Bill McFatter). Roy was a cherished grandfather to seventeen grandchildren—Abby, Daniel, Corey, Jenny, Andrew, John, Jeri, Adam, Curtis, Clifton, Chelsea, Chadd, Cassie, Max, Remy, Ian and Alexandria—and a proud great-grandfather to twenty-seven great-grandchildren and he leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Roy shared many joyful years with his companion, Sue Mills, and cared deeply for her children—Sheri, Susan (Billy), and Elmer "Bub" and grandchildren-Will, Hunter, Ashley and Emily.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. A graveside tribute will follow at the Allen Family Cemetery in Inez.
