Burial: McKenzie Cemetery, Nippa, KY

Roy J. McKenzie, age 75, of Stambaugh, KY passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.

Roy was born May 28, 1946 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late James Monroe and Nancy Lee Cordle McKenzie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daugther-in-law, Angela McKenzie; eight sisters, Mary Lou Coldwell, Loraine Green, Marty Castle, Belvie Mckenzie, Jessie Mae Case, Clustene Hall, Kathlene Brown and Ollie Fay Castle; three brothers, Elvie Ray McKenzie, Monroe Mckenzie Jr. and George Sherman "Bill" McKenzie.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Jewell McKenzie; two sons, Delmer :LeeRoy McKenzie of Stambaugh, KY and Edgel Castle of Ashland, KY; one daughter, Kathy Fay McKenzie of Stambaugh, KY; five grandchildren, Talisha Nichole Mckenzie, Breanna Loraine Mckenzie, Britta Leighann Rogers, Justin Michael Castle and Susan Litton ; five great grandchildren Kayleigh, Ariya, Ayla, Kaison and Autumn.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Jim McKenzie and James Kelly Caudill officiating.  Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery, Nippa, KY.   Friends may call at Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
