Ruby Jewell Castle, age 77, of Thealka, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.

Ruby was born January 27, 1943 in the Breathitt County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Curtis Sturgill and Mary Mae Stanley Strugill. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Baker and one brother, James Strugill.

She is survived by her husband, Arlie "Curley" Castle whom she married on April 29, 1964; two daughters, Karen Mullins and husband David of Wittensville, Kentucky and Mary Ann Stepp and husband David of Thealka, Kentucky; one sister, Margaret "Toby" Woods of London, Ohio; three grandchildren Ashley Music, Nathan Castle, and Lacey Leckrone; five great grandchildren, Tessa Leckrone, Mia Leckrone, Jayla Stepp, Callie Campbell and Melody Music; special nurse and friend, Traci McCown; special friend, Vickie Castle; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Michael Marcum officiating.  Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
