Ruby Pelphrey Blanton, age 96, of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Highlands ARH.

Ruby was born June 22, 1927 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Challie Pelphrey and Malta Jewell Rice Pelphrey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert George Blanton, siblings, Agnes Pelphrey VanHoose, Kelse Edward "Bud" Pelphrey, Betty Evelyn Pelphrey McKenzie, Robert Challie Pelphrey, and Jack Daker Pelphrey.

She is survived by one sister, Mabel Ilene Pelphrey Hazelette of Hager Hill, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Jennie Pelphrey of Staffordsville, Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends and church family.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at First Baptist Church with Donnie Patrick and Seth Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at First Baptist Church Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
