Ruhemah "Rudy" Baldwin Caudill, age 85, of Section, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Rudy was born on October 6, 1938, in Paintsville, Kentucky to George Thomas Baldwin and Zelda Dale Baldwin. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1960 from Moorhead State University in Kentucky with an A.B. majoring in Speech/Dramatics and General Business. She earned her master's degree in education from Sam Houston State University in Texas. She taught Theater Arts and Speech at Travis Junior High and Pete Junior High until she retired in 2003. The day after she retired, she married Lee and they moved to the farm in Section. She and Lee enjoyed raising and breeding goats and going to Livestock Shows where they won many awards.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, George and Zelda Baldwin, and her brothers, Tom Baldwin, Ray Baldwin, and Jack Baldwin.
Rudy is survived by her husband of almost 29 years, Lee Edward Caudill; her sister Margarett "Peggy" Louise Baldwin Foley; children Pat (and Marc) Eckert, Gerald (and Cathy) Hawes, William (and Janet) Hawes; stepchildren James (and Susan) Caudill, and Deborah (and Bruce) Neal. Rudy leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Micayla Hawes, Justin Hawes, Elliott Hawes, Emah Eckert, Journee Eckert, Gabriel Eckert, Jeff (and Jamie) Caudill, Jay Caudill, Clint (and Kelly) Caudill, Jack (and Sarah) Caudill; and four great grandchildren; Beckham, Hudson, and Clark Caudill and Layla Bruce. The grandkids enjoyed visiting with her, hearing her tell stories about growing up in Kentucky, and feeding the baby goats.
The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm, prior to the service, on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel, 2226 Main Street East, Rainsville, Alabama. The funeral service will be held at 2pm at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.
