In Loving Memory of Ruth Ann Spencer

September 18, 1943 – July 21, 2026

Life is not measured by the years we are given, but by the love we leave behind. By that measure, Ruth Ann Spencer lived a beautiful and extraordinary life.

Born on September 18, 1943, Ruth's greatest purpose was her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a treasured great-grandmother. She found her greatest joy not in grand accomplishments, but in the everyday moments—sharing a meal around the table, watching her grandchildren grow, tending to her flowers, stitching quilts with loving hands, and filling her home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

She shared a lifetime of love with her beloved husband, Donald Lee Spencer, who survives her. Together they created a home where family always came first, where everyone was welcome, and where love was never in short supply. The life they built together is reflected in the children and grandchildren who were blessed to call them Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa.

Ruth is lovingly remembered by her children: Son: Don Spencer, spouse Ginger McKenzie; Son: Randy Spencer, spouse Carla Sharp; Daughter: Wanda Endicott and husband Robert Endicott; and Son: Mark Spencer and wife Susan Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, James Michael Spencer (Mike), and her precious grandson, Nachese Tyler Ducote, whom she carried in her heart every day.

She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends, all of whom were touched by her generous heart and endless love.

Ruth had a gift for making ordinary days feel special. Whether she was piecing together another quilt or simply sitting outside admiring the beauty of God's creation, she found happiness in life's simplest blessings. She believed the best memories were made at home, surrounded by the people you love.

Her family will remember her gentle strength, her unwavering faith in those she loved, and the comfort of knowing she was always there when she was needed. She celebrated every success, carried every burden alongside those she loved, and never let anyone leave without knowing they mattered.

The loss we feel today is immeasurable, but so is the gratitude we carry for having been loved by her. Though her chair may now sit empty and her voice has grown quiet, her love remains all around us—in family traditions, in treasured recipes, in handmade quilts passed from one generation to the next, in blooming flowers each spring, and in every act of kindness inspired by her example.

Our hearts will never stop missing her, but they will never stop being grateful for the years we shared. Her love was the thread that held our family together, and that thread can never be broken.

Ruth Ann Spencer will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed. Until we meet again, we will carry her in our hearts and honor her by loving one another the way she loved us.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2026 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Marty Wright officiating. Interment to follow in the Hannah Family Cemetery at Hager Hill. Friend may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Friday from 11 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 1 P.M.
