Sam Henry Music, age 81, of Oil Springs, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky.

Sam was born June 18, 1940 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late L.J. Music and Minnie Endicott Music. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Joyce Sturgill Music on March 14, 2014; one daughter, Shelia Music; four brothers, John Music, Milford Music, Jay Music and Phillip Music; and one sister, Mildred Compton.

He is survived by two sons, James Norman Music and Milford Eugene Music; three daughters, Tammy Mann, Tonja Kay Blevins, and Marlena Blazer; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with David Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
