Scottie Keith Somerville, age 82, of Oil Springs, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2024 at the home of his granddaughter, Tiffany Blanton.

Scottie was born April 13, 1942 in Ripley, West Virginia, son of the late Paul David Somerville and Ernestine Synder Somerville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Fields Somerville.

He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Carol Cantrell of Hager Hill, Kentucky; two sisters, Della Coleman and Lola Jean (Larry) Wells all of Paintsville, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Tiffany (Denny) Blanton; and three great grandchildren, Tinlee Blanton, Gabriella Blanton and Carter Blanton. A host of nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at First Church of God with Dan Heaberlin officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 and at First Church of God on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
