Marie Witten, age 86, of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Mt. Manor of Paintsville.

Marie was born June 4, 1934 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charles Hyde and Mary Conley Jasper. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Witten and one sister, Martha Russell.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Bowling of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; two sons, James Allen Witten of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and Robert Neil Witten of Van Lear, Kentucky; one sister, Janet Butcher of Richmond, Kentucky; and two nieces.

Private funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Jerry Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Private visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 and 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 for Immediate family only.

Per the Governor's mandates, anyone attending the Private Visitation, Funeral service, and/or Graveside/Committal services are limited to 25 people total and face covering of some type required for everyone.
