Teresa Burgess, age 59, of Nippa, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at her home.

Teresa was born July 3, 1963 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Ellis Scarberry and Ruby Jewell Castle Scarberry.

She is survived by two sons, Steven Wayne (Ashley) Burgess II and Andrew Blake Burgess all of Richmond, Kentucky; one daughter, Amy Brooke Burgess Smith of Nippa, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Jack Steven Burgess and Lydia Raine Smith; five sisters, Linda Bentley of Nippa, Kentucky, Brenda Lemaster of Lowmansville, Kentucky, Deborah Heuser of Nippa, Kentucky, Karen Salyer of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Marsheila Baldwin of Leander, Kentucky; three brothers, James Scarberry of Loveland, Ohio, Larry Scarberry of East Point, Kentucky and Jerry Scarberry of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Ronnie Spriggs officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
