Timothy Paul Setser, age 56, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home.

Timothy was born August 25, 1966 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of Lola Ann Hall of Tomahawk, Kentucky and the late Edgar Setser. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Lynn Setser.

In addition to his mother, Timothy is survived by one daughter, Marie Ann (Rigel Patrick) Preston of Paintsville, Kentucky; one son, Timothy "Paul" (Alisha Kay) Setser, Jr. of Leigh Acres, Florida; three sisters, Teresa (Ronnie) Adkins of Langley, Kentucky, Alicia Setser Bentley of Paintsville, Kentucky and Shirley (Mike) Moore of Van Lear, Kentucky; two brothers, James (Stella) Setser of Adams, Kentucky and Johnny (Tina) Shears of West Lafayette, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Christopher Paul Setser, Jonathon Leon Nobles, Hayden Benjamin Nobles, Kayci Paige Nobles, Emari Lynn Setser, Christopher "Isaiah" Brackett, and Laith Paul Edwin Preston.

Timothy enlisted in the United States Marines Corp in Beckley, West Virginia and was discharged from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his years of service, medals he received were, Good Conduct Medal (1 ^st Award), Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Letter of Appreciation, and Meritorious Mast.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Isaac Rowland and Scotty Mollett officiating. Burial will follow at Setser Cemetery, Rockhouse Road, Tomahawk, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.
