Tom Reed Jr., age 71 of Salyersville, formerly of Johnson County, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice Care Center in Huntington.

He was born on July 29, 1954 in Johnson County to the late Fred and Margaret Gross Reed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Delene Reed.

Survivors include two brothers: Bill (Patty) Reed of Boons Camp, Fred (Laura) Reed of Boons Camp; three sisters: Stella Young of Salyersville, Betty Dixon of Nicholasville, and Maltie Cline of Prestonsburg.

Tom served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday, May 24, 2026 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with James Kelly Caudill officiating. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 12 P.M. Sunday until the time of the funeral services at 2 P.M.

The Auxier Chapter 18 DAV will conduct full military honors.
