Troy Salyers, age 83, of Swamp Branch, passed away Thursday evening, April 16, 2026, at Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born on March 20, 1943, in Johnson County to the late Earl and Oma Pennington Salyers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Salyers, one stepdaughter, Charlene Compton; four sisters: Della Faye Howard, Mary Ellen Stacy, Imigean Fultz, Reva Hamilton; two brothers: Melvin Saylor, Marvin Saylor; two grandchildren: Ennie Allen Owens and Brandy Auxier.

Survivors include one son: Troy Mike (Sandra) Salyers of Georgetown; three stepsons: Ricky Fairchild of Paintsville, Randy (Barbara) Fairchild of Wabash, IN, Ronnie (Brenda) Fairchild of Stambaugh; one stepdaughter: Darlene (Terry) Bowling of Van Lear; one brother: Roy (Velma) Salyers of Flat Gap; two sisters: Edna Mae Fultz of Salyersville, Josephine (Les) Issacs of Nicholasville, along with several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Joe Scott and Paul Wayne Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, April 20, 2026, and on Tuesday from 11 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 1 P.M.
