Burial: Castle Family Cemetery, Boyd Branch, Thealka, Kentucky

Virgil Castle, age 73, of Thealka, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at UK Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky.

Virgil was born January 10, 1948 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Ervin Henry Castle and Betty Bradley Castle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Virtus, Greene and Charles and two sisters, Fanny White and Faye Castle.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Carol King Castle; one son, Joseph (Mechell) Castle of Thelma, Kentucky; one daughter, Angela Castle of Thealka, Kentucky; one brother, Verlin (Kathy) Castle of Thealka, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Mahayla Castle, Dylan Castle, Garret McCarty and Nathanael McCarty; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Gary Blair officiating. Burial will follow in the Castle Family Cemetery, Boyd Branch, Thealka, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021.
