Wendall Lee Gilliam, age 57, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Salyersville, Kentucky.

Wendall was born October 24, 1965 in Morgan County, Kentucky, son of the late James Nelson Gilliam and Hazel Ison Gilliam. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James Paris Gilliam and four brother-in-laws, William Gamble, Earl Gilliam, Clinton Johnson, and Ricky Cantrell.

He is survived by the love of his life, Shelia Stanley; two daughters, Christy Williams and Katrina Young; step daughter, Ashley Thacker of Pikeville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; six brothers, Edward (Florence) Gilliam of Elk Fork, Kentucky, William Paul (Beverly) Gilliam of West Liberty, Kentucky, Rufus (Connie) Hesque Gilliam of West Liberty, Kentucky, Danny (Lora) Gilliam of West Liberty, Kentucky, Donnie (Patty) Gilliam of Elk Fork, Kentucky, Elmer Gene (Carol) Gilliam of west Liberty, Kentucky; four sisters, Geneva Gamble, Elizabeth Gilliam, Rose Mary Johnson all of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Alberta Cantrell of Elk Fork, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Chad Reinthaler.  Burial will follow at Ison Cemetery, Crocket, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023.
