William Ray "Bill" Powers, age 78, of Ashville, Ohio, formerly of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home.

Bill was born September 17, 1941 in Van Lear, Kentucky, son of the late Daniel and Sybil Blair Powers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Denise J. Woods Powers, one son, Stephen Patrick Powers, one daughter, DeeLena Manuel, one brother, Charles, one sister, Barbara Sue, and three half-sisters.

He is survived by one son, William Shannon Powers of Ashville, Ohio; one daughter, Leah Raye Boling (Richard) of Raysville, Ohio; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Steve Rose and Ronnie Spriggs officiating.   Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit Jones-Preston Funeral Home Friday, July 3, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m.  until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
